Privacy Policy — EMIChecker.com

This document tells you what data we gather when you use our site, why we gather it, who we may share it with, and the choices available to you.

01About EMIChecker.com

EMIChecker.com is a free financial resource. We build and maintain EMI calculators, loan repayment tools, and plain-language guides covering interest rates, borrowing costs, and debt planning — at no charge and without requiring you to register an account.

Because our tools are informational rather than transactional, the data we handle is minimal. This policy covers every page and feature currently available on emichecker.com.

02Data we collect

Comments

If our comment sections are enabled, posting a comment records your chosen display name, email address, comment text, IP address, and the browser/device details your connection sends automatically. We use this to review submissions before publishing and to guard against spam.

Your email address is never shown publicly. An anonymised string derived from it may be forwarded to Gravatar solely to check whether a profile image is linked to that address.

Uploaded images

If you upload an image anywhere on the site, the file may carry embedded metadata — including GPS coordinates recorded by your camera or phone — which could be read by anyone who downloads it. We recommend stripping location data from images before uploading.

Calculator inputs

Numbers you enter into our EMI or loan calculators are processed entirely within your browser. We do not send those figures to our servers or store them anywhere.

03Cookies

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website. EMIChecker.com uses the following types:

Convenience cookies

If you leave a comment and choose to save your details, your name, email, and website URL are stored in cookies for twelve months, so you don’t have to retype them next time.

Functional cookies

Short-lived session cookies may verify your browser is working correctly with our site. These are removed automatically when you close the tab.

Advertising cookies

Our advertising partners — including Google — may place cookies on your device to power the ads shown on our pages. See the Advertising section below.

Managing cookies

Every major browser lets you view, block, or delete cookies through its settings. Some site features may not work as intended if you block all cookies.

GDPR & consent: if you’re in the EU, EEA, or another jurisdiction where cookie consent is legally required, we ask for your agreement before placing non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.

04Analytics

We use privacy-conscious web analytics to understand which pages are visited, how long visitors stay, and which tools are most useful. This data is aggregated across all visitors and is not used to identify any individual person.

Analytics informs which content to expand, which pages need improving, and how to make the site load faster. It is never used for profiling or marketing.

If you later add a specific analytics tool (e.g. Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom), name it explicitly here along with a link to its own privacy policy — that specificity is expected under GDPR/CCPA transparency rules.

05Advertising

Running EMIChecker.com as a free resource is supported in part by advertising revenue. We display ads through Google AdSense and may work with other certified advertising networks from time to time.

How Google AdSense works

Google and its advertising partners use cookies to deliver ads relevant to each visitor, based on visits to emichecker.com and other sites you’ve browsed. This is processed by Google under its own privacy terms and does not include your name, email, or other identifying details held by us.

Required disclosure: third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites across the internet.

Opting out of personalised ads

You are not required to receive personalised advertising. These tools let you review your ad preferences or opt out entirely:

You can also disable personalised advertising directly within your Google account, or block advertising cookies through your browser settings.

06Embedded third-party content

Some pages may include content pulled from external providers — for example, a video, chart, or data widget. When that content loads, the provider’s servers are contacted directly.

Loading embedded content is equivalent to visiting the provider’s own website: they may set their own cookies, record your IP address, and track your interaction with their content. EMIChecker.com has no control over what those third parties collect.

07How we use your data

Data collected through this site is used only for the following purposes:

  • Reviewing and publishing reader comments
  • Detecting and blocking spam and automated abuse
  • Maintaining the security and stability of the site
  • Understanding how our tools and content are used, so we can improve them
  • Displaying contextually relevant advertisements through our ad partners
  • Meeting any legal obligations that apply to our operations
We do not sell, rent, exchange, or otherwise share your personal data with any third party for their own commercial purposes.

08Affiliate links

Some pages contain affiliate links to financial products or services. If you follow one and complete an action — such as applying for a loan — the relevant company may pay us a referral fee, at no extra cost to you.

Affiliate arrangements have no bearing on what we recommend. Our calculators and editorial content reflect our honest, independent assessment of the options available.

09Data retention

Comments and their metadata (name, email, IP address) are kept for as long as needed to moderate the discussion and prevent repeat abuse, and are periodically reviewed for removal. You can request deletion of your comment data at any time via our contact page.

If we introduce user accounts in future, account holders will be able to access, amend, and delete their stored information directly, except where retention is required for security or legal reasons.

10Your rights

Depending on where you’re located, you may be entitled to some or all of the following rights over personal data we hold about you:

  • Know what data we hold and how it is used
  • Have inaccurate data corrected
  • Have your data deleted (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Restrict or object to certain types of processing
  • Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent you’ve previously given

To make a request, please write to us through our contact page. We’ll acknowledge your request within a reasonable period and do our best to resolve it promptly.

11Children

Our website is aimed at adults seeking financial guidance and is not directed at anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that a child has submitted personal data, we will delete it as quickly as possible — please contact us immediately if you believe this has happened.

12Policy updates

We may revise this Privacy Policy as our services, applicable laws, or internal practices change. Revised versions are published on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to use EMIChecker.com after a revision is published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

If we make changes that significantly alter how we handle personal data, we’ll highlight those changes clearly on this page for a reasonable period after they take effect.

This Privacy Policy is governed by the applicable laws of India. Visitors from other countries may also have rights under their local privacy laws.

Questions or requests?

If anything in this policy is unclear, or you’d like to exercise any of your data rights, our contact page is the fastest way to reach us. We read every message.
